Ms. Moss's talk on the "forgotten middle" is important because it's the middle sector of society that carries 1) the bulk of society's workload, public and private, 2) the burden of paying taxes, and 3) the building and protecting of the nation.

A few years down the road, the middle among the students become the middle of the workforce. Therefore, forgetting the middle among students is ignoring the sector that will ultimately become the backbone of the country.”
